This page contains some free fonts that I'm designing.
I now have a dedicated page for the Workplace family of TrueType fonts.
My OS/2 bitmap fonts are below.
- Almost Swiss (bitmap)
- Almost Swiss is an OS/2 bitmap font which was
inspired by the 8- and 10-point sizes of the system font "Helv"
(also known as "Swiss"). Larger versions of the original system
font are quite different, so I created Almost Swiss to fulfill a
desire for larger sizes in a more consistent style.
Almost Swiss is designed to be suitable for program screen text at higher resolutions.
Here is an image of the Almost Swiss font at its various point sizes (at 120 dpi).

almswiss_20080511.zip The latest release of Almost Swiss (May 2008) - Almost VIO (bitmap)
- Almost VIO is an OS/2 bitmap font which was
inspired by the system font "System VIO". My reason for creating
it is that, while I happen to like the 6-point form (7x15) of System
VIO a great deal as an editor font, the other point sizes are very
different (and aren't nearly as attractive at larger sizes).
Consequently, Almost VIO is based on the 6-point form of System VIO,
but offers larger sizes in the same general style.
Here is an image of the Almost VIO font at its various point sizes (at 120 dpi).

I'd like to thank Stan Goodman for advice on getting the Hebrew characters to look right.

almvio_20091110.zip The latest release of Almost VIO (November 2009). - WarpSans (Extended Sizes)
- This is an unofficial extension to the
"WarpSans" OS/2 bitmap font which provides larger point sizes
under 120dpi resolutions.
10-point and 11-point sizes in both normal and Bold styles are included in the same font file. Here is an image of the new point sizes.
This font should be installed like any other under OS/2 (e.g. using the Font Palette). Note that it will not provide any new point sizes under 96dpi resolutions (normally 800x600 and below, possibly others depending on how SDD_FONT_DPI or the equivalent is defined).
