Page Under Permanent Construction

Hello, friend.

This is a(n un)fortunate circumstance.

You've found yourself at yet another of those annoying incomplete internet homepages. "Under construction!", it says, assuring you that work will be completed soon. The facade of progress does not fool you, however. Skilled in the art of interconnected networking of networks, you recognize this as one of the countless abandoned, overly ambitious projects of someone whose vision never quite crystallised. They are the hallmark of academics, dabblers, and people who ended up having work to do.

Since you're here I may as well say a short bit about myself. I'm currently (as of this writing, but when you read it, who knows!) employed as an intern at Microsoft, and I attend the University of Guelph for Computer Science. I'll be entering my third year this fall (of 2009), and trying to keep a much lower profile than I have in the past two years, where I rubbed elbows with the University Elite as the Student Senator for the Bachelor of Computing Degree, and also the Treasurer, then the President of the Society of Computing and Information Science, whose webserver teddie is where this markup is hosted.

I'm interested in Human Computer Interaction and Mobile Devices (wearable computing) research, as well as just about everything else. I am a vim, C, Linux (presently Ubuntu/Gnome), Firefox, Blender, anti-skub, Coke, Nintendo, Lego, Wheel of Time/Discworld/Princess Bride/Foundation, Starcraft music, Browncoat kind of person. I like to play videogames and pretend I'm capable of making them, sketch weird little drawings of things I see, write short stories without endings, play my guitar whilst wishing I had a trumpet to call my own, waste time on the internet, boss people around, make ineffectually lengthy lists, and admire (from afar) the crazy smart accomplished people I cross paths with. Also, beards. That one's an inside joke I guess.

If you'd like to contact me, people at this here computer club (just take users. and the ~wcarss/whatever out of the url) generally know how to find me. Also, I have a gmail account, which might prove more fruitful for both of us. It's carss [dot] w [at] gmail [dot] com -- and I wrote that in that format more to make it annoying for you than to stop a terrifying webcrawling email chomper. I'll probably get back to you; I love attention. But I'm kind of slow, so forgive my almost guaranteed high ping time.

My name is Wyatt, if you didn't catch that from the page's title element. It's nice to passively meet you.
